The Sandwich Historical Society and the Sandwich Glass Museum interpret the history of the town of Sandwich and its glass industry. Exhibits of glass and historical items tell the story of the town’s greatest contribution to the American Industrial Revolution. Displays of more than 6,000 glass pieces created by different glass companies in Sandwich during the 19th and 20th centuries are on display in fifteen galleries. The Museum also includes daily glassblowing demonstrations, a multi-media theater, a contemporary glass gallery, the Levine Lighting Gallery and the Hannah “Rebecca” Burgess Dining Room c. 1880. Interactive and Special Exhibits complete the experience. Located in the heart of Sandwich’s Glass Town Cultural District this fascinating Museum offers a dazzling Museum Store featuring the work of well known contemporary glass artists as well as reproductions, perfumes, jewelry, paperweights, vases and ornaments. View the intriguing world of glassblowing and interact with out glassblower. It is a thrilling experience. The Museum is open Feb. and Mar. Wed-Sun. 9:30 a.m. -4:00pm Apr.-Dec. Daily 9:30am-5:00pm. The Museum is closed January, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day , Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. During these challenging times we are pleased to say that the Sandwich Glass Museum is open and we follow strict Covid-19 Protocols. Guests must wear masks and self distance.
